Turning Memories into Memorials
Losing a loved one is one of the most difficult experiences in life, but finding ways to honor their memory can bring comfort and healing. The grief journey is often filled with unexpected waves that are at times overwhelming. In the midst of death and loss, memories can often feel like a burden but can also feel like a gift.
Rediscovering Light: Anticipatory Joy
Grief can feel overwhelming, like a heavy fog that dims the light of hope and happiness. In the midst of grief and loss, it might seem impossible or even wrong to dream, feel positive emotions, or look forward to joyful experiences again. However, anticipatory joy—the ability to feel happiness and excitement for what lies ahead—can play an essential role in healing and finding balance as you navigate your grief.
The Role of Bereavement Support Groups
The With You Virtual Support Group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month midday and in the evening via Zoom.
Visit our Grief Page for information on in-person groups and grief events in your local area.
Connecting with others who understand the pain of loss can be incredibly reassuring, helping individuals move forward with a sense of community and support.
